Daisy has been poorly the last day or so – her abdomen is lumpy and her demeanour has deteriorated sharply. Unfortunately we know these signs and all that we can do in this situation is give her the best final days we can – plenty of treats and cuddles and making her as comfortable as possible with pain relief and giving the right environment for her – peace and quiet when she wants it, and gentle hens around her.
Today though, she’d had enough, and we made an appointment with the vet and Daisy took the passenger seat for the car journey.
The vet confirmed tumours and fluid in her abdomen, and the tumours were affecting her spine, causing her problems with her legs, paralysing her. We did the last kind thing we could do for Daisy and ended her pain.
Fly high sweet girl.
