Today we lost Clover. She was one of the 11 hens that became ‘The Petunias’ that were re-homed in August 2017 and had just under 6 months with us. Clover had a small prolapse when she arrived but she managed to overcome that and quickly blossomed into a lovely hen with a beautiful ginger coat that kept her warm throughout the winter.
Not one for fame or attention she got on with ‘being a hen’ and soon integrated into the flock and went about her daily activities of eating what she wanted, dustbathing if she felt like it and sunbathing when it was warm enough. However, yesterday she appeared unwell at the end of the day and was unable to put herself to bed at night. We brought her indoors and gave her some medication but sadly she died in her sleep.
Fly high sweet girl.
